I'm partial to owls, I think they're cool and also cute and sort of mysterious, they have big ol' eyes and can turn their heads a ridiculous amount. Snowy owls are rad, same with horned owls, but they're all cool. I wrote a poem about owls in poetry class in 3rd grade.

I haven't found my owl pics yet. Here's some needlepoint work my mother made.

And here's a few things that can be seen around here.

Blue herons won't let you get too close. Hard to get a good pic.

Geese and swans, not so hard.

Lots of ducks.

This is at a place that rehabs injured wild birds in Canada.

I have my bird welfare hung high, so the deer can't get to it directly. But they eat the spilled seeds from the ground.

Their philosophy is "If I can reach it, it's mine."

We always left the upper branches of the fruit trees for the birds and squirrels - whoever could get at it was allowed to have it.

I miss seeing squirrels. There aren't any in this neighborhood. :(

Is he eating from that feeder, or mating with it?

There's this place in Nova Scotia called Oaklawn Farm Zoo. A lot of what they do is wild animal rescue. And make a home for wild animals who were kept as pets, and really never should have been. Some of the birds I saw there.

And this guy, since people like owls, was taken on Cape Breton Island in the park in 2016. I didn't get the best of weather for that trip, and was a bit disappointed that I saw very little wildlife. But this fellow was nice enough to pose for a couple of pics.
